Abstract (EN)

Fracture mechanics is the field of mechanics concerned with the study of the propagation of cracks in materials. It uses analytical solid mechanics methods to calculate the driving force on a crack and experimental solid mechanics methods to characterize the material's resistance to fracture. The relationship between the tensile stress and dimension of geometrically similar structures is in the opposite direction. It is observed that the tensile capacity of the elements decreases as the size increases. The aim of this study is to experimentally obtain the breaking loads of beam, cylinder and cube concrete samples of different sizes under axial compression load and to calculate the parameters by plotting the size effect curves with the obtained values. For this purpose, various concrete test specimens from beams, cylinders and cubes of different sizes were used in the experimental study. The existence of the size effect was clearly seen with the results obtained from the experiments with beam, cylinder and cube samples of different sizes.
