Abstract (EN)

The reliability of the chain of transmitters (isnād), the first part of the hadīth to be examined to determine the authenticity, is determined based on the continuity of the isnād and religious integrity/probity and accuracy of transmitters. Critics of hadīth transmitters described the religious integrity/probity and accuracy of transmitters by a specific terminology. Therefore, it is crucial for reaching a correct conclusion about the transmitters to know the meaning and connotation of this terminology. In this thesis, firstly, it is tried to determine the meaning of "matrūk" and "matrūk al-hadīth", and then narrations and the status of "matrūk" and "matrūk al-hadīth" transmitters in the Sunan, the third book of Kutub al-Sitta, in which there is no transmissions from matrūk al-hadīth transmitters according to its collector Abū Dāwūd, are analysed. In conclusion, it is established that among Sunan's the thirty nine transmitters described by hadīth cricits as "matrūk" and "matrūk al-hadīth", there are three criticised as a liar, seven matrūk, theree machūl, six da'īf transmitters, and Abū Dāwūd include their ahādīth in his Sunan for various reasons.
