Abstract (EN)
Lameness of sheep and goat are a big problem in term of loss of production and surgical disease in our Country. This study; It was evaluated in terms of foot diseases in sheep and goats that are intensively bred in Çüngüş and Çermik districts of Diyarbakır province. In this study, a total of 12.119 sheep and goats, 7.485 in the pre-pasture period and 4.714 in the post-pasture period, were examined for foot diseases. As a result of the examination, lesions were observed on the feet of 734 out of 12.119 animals. These lesions were seen at a rate of 63.48% in the pre-pasture period and 36.51% in the post-pasture period. Lesions were observed in 64.30% of the animals with foot disease in the forefoot and 35.70% in the hindfoot. The foot lesions observed were 12.39% footrot, 5.8% sinus interdigitalis, 8.5% interdigital dermatitis, 73.16% nail deformation. According to the data we obtained at the end of the study, the prevalence of foot diseases in sheep and goats in Çermik and Çüngüş districts of Diyarbakır province in the pre-pasture and post-pasture periods in 2022 was determined as 6.05%.
