Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to evaluate the healthy lifestyle behaviors of nurses working in surgical units. The population of the descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of nurses (n = 118 people) working in the surgical units of Gümüşhane State Hospital between October and November 2023. It was planned to be conducted on all surgical unit nurses without choosing any sampling method, and all of them were reached. Data of the research; The researchers conducted a survey consisting of questions about the nurses' sociodemographic characteristics, working environment and working style, health-related behaviors, and Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale questions, which were created by reviewing the literature, and were administered under direct observation for approximately 20 minutes during the nurses' rest hours. Frequency, student t test, One way ANOVA, Tukey test, pearson correlation analysis were used in the statistical analysis of the data. It was found that the healthy lifestyle behaviors of the nurses included in the research were at a moderate level. When each sub-dimension of the healthy lifestyle behavior scale is evaluated; The sub-dimensions of Health Responsibility, Physical Activity, Nutrition, Spiritual Development, Interpersonal Relationships and Stress Management were also found to be at moderate levels. It has been determined that nurses who are married, perceive their income status as high, exercise, eat regularly, and have regular health check-ups have higher healthy lifestyle behaviors. As the age of nurses increases, their healthy lifestyle behaviors increase. As nurses' working hours increase, the Spiritual Development and Interpersonal Relations sub-dimensions of Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors decrease.
