Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study; is to examine the effects of recreational activities and theoretical leisure education on the self-efficacy, anxiety level and happiness level of secondary school individuals. In addition, it was aimed to reveal the effect of recreational activity and leisure education on variables such as awareness, time management, social interaction skills, motivation and problem solving, which are components of leisure education. The study, was carried out with secondary school students studying in schools affiliated to Şanlıurfa Provincial Directorate of National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. Individuals in the experimental group did not participate in any activity, and the control group, which was classified as recreational activity application group, theoretical leisure education participation group, and both application and theoretical training groups. The study was in experimental design and was carried out in a pretest-posttest control group model. In the findings of the study, there was a positive significant difference between the students in the experimental group and the students in the control group in the mean values of 'self-efficacy' and 'happiness level'. In addition, it was found that the 'anxiety' levels of the students in the experimental group decreased significantly compared to the students in the control group. In the study findings; All sub and total scores of 'leisure education' scores of students participating in recreational activities and students participating in theoretical leisure education differed significantly in favor of the experimental group. In the total score of 'leisure education', it was found that the scores of the students who only participated in the theoretical education showed a positive significant difference compared to the activity participation and control groups. As a result, it was concluded that the recreational activity, which was examined within the scope of the findings, had a positive effect on and supports self-efficacy, happiness, anxiety level, and leisure education. In addition, in this context, positive effects of theoretical leisure education on leisure education and self-efficacy, happiness and anxiety levels were determined.
