Effects of postactivation potential applied with various angles squat exercises on vertical jump performance in young volleyball players

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of postactivation potentiation applied with squat exercises performed at various angles on vertical jump performance in young volleyball players. Eighteen young male volleyball players aged 19-24 years (age = 21.9 ± 1.3 years; training age = 7.4 ± 1.2 years) voluntarily participated in the study. Repeated measures two-way analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis of the data. According to the results of 4 treatments × 7 times repeated measures two-way analysis of variance to examine the effects of postactivation potentiation applied with squat exercises performed at 60 and 90 degrees on vertical jump performance, statistically significant differences were found in the treatment × time effect (F = 4,618; p < 0.001), treatment effect (F = 5,332; p < 0.002) and time effect (F = 4,911; p < 0.001). In addition, a statistically significant difference was found in the applications performed after the pre-test application depending on time (p < 0.05). As a result, it was found that postactivation potentiation applied with squat exercises performed at 90 degrees angle more increased vertical jump performance in young volleyball players.
