Prof.Dr. Çiğdem SARICI-ÖZDEMİR In this study, adsorption studies of methylene blue dye and photocatalytic studies were carried out from the aqueous solution prepared using the chestnut peel and peanut shell, which are agricultural waste. Dye concentration, adsorption time, adsorption temperature and the effect of adsorbent amount were investigated. The effect of usability of the synthesis samples obtained from using chestnut shell and peanut shell prepared as photocatalysis by using photocatalysis studies was investigated. FT-IR, XRD, SEM and EDAX analyzes were performed for the characterization of the catalysts. The effect of photocatalytic effect on the methylene blue removal was investigated in the morning and at noon. The data obtained after the experiments were evaluated in terms of kinetics and their compatibility with the pseudo-first, pseudo-second and elovich equations were investigated. According to the results, it was determined whether the wastes would be used as photocatalyst. KEYWORDS: Adsorption, photocatalyst, methylene blue, chestnut shell, peanut shell
