Abstract (EN)
In general, the most common Salmonella serovars worldwide are S. enterica subsp. enterica and S. enterica serovar typhimurium and S. enterica serovar enteritidis. In industrialized countries, Salmonella spp. infections cause four different clinical pictures in which non-typhoidal salmonellosis is more common. These are cases of gastroenteritis, typhoid paratyphoid, sepsis and local organ infections. Antibiotic-resistant Salmonella species, like other microorganisms, pose a serious threat to public health. In addition, considering the ability of these bacteria to form biofilms, it makes the problem of antibiotic resistance more serious. In our study, 101 Salmonella spp. isolated from various clinical specimens sent to the central laboratories of various hospitals. Between January 2020 and December 2022, the presence of biofilm and detection of antibiotic susceptibility of the strain were investigated. Antibiotic susceptibility tests of isolates were studied with Vitek-2 compact system and determined according to Eucast 2022 MIC values. Biofilm development of strains was determined by microplate method.While biofilm development was observed in 39.60 % of Salmonella spp. isolates, no biofilm was observed in 60.40 %. The susceptibility rate of Ampicillin, Amoxicillin / Clavulanic Acid, Piperacillin / Tazobactam, Cefazolin, Cefoxitin, Ceftazidime, Ceftriaxone, Cefepim, Ertapenem, Meropenem, Amikacin, Gentamicin, Ciprofloxacin, Colistin, Trimethoprim/Sulfametaxesol, respectively; 87.12%, 90.09%, 98.01%, 16.83%, 94.05%, 97.02%, 95.04%, 97.02%, 99.00%, 99.00%, 99.00% 97.02%, 83.16%, 96.03% and 99.00% and resistance rates 12.87%, respectively. 9.90%, 1.98%, 5.94%, 2.97%, 2.97%, 4.95%, 0.99%, 0.99%, 0.99%, 2.97%, 16.83%, 3.96%, 0.99%. The ratios of Cefazolin, Cefoxitin, Cefepim are moderately sensitive, respectively; 77.22%, 2.97%, 1.98%. It is thought that the findings of our study will lead to some virulence-related properties of Salmonella such as resistance to chemical disinfectants and antibiotics, as well as bacterial adhesion, biofilm formation on abiotic surfaces, antibiotic resistance and the ability of bacteria.
