Özet (EN)
Calcium aluminate (CA) cement is not being produced in Turkey and imported from abroad. This causes an exchange loss in our country. In this study, it is aimed to produce CA cements by using abundant materials in Turkey. The study is composed of five steps. In the first step, raw materials were selected for CA production. Then, affect of milling size on CA properties was investigated. Later, the affect of heating rate which was used in sintering process was studied. In the following step, CA production was carried out and chemical analysis was performed on the samples. Finally, press molding capability of produced CA samples was examined.Produced samples were characterized by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) techniques. In order to determine the other physical properties of the samples, water absorption, thermal shock and three point bending tests were performed.
