Abstract (EN)
The aim of academic translation education is to provide the students translation competence. In the given academic translation education, the translation and its types of sub-competence are transferred to the students. The translation competence which is holistic has many sub-competences. All of these competences will be explained in the study. The study is a practical study aimed at translation and translator competence. The first practical part of this study has carried out within the scope of Sakarya University. All courses which was taken during the undergraduate education at Sakarya University will be examined and evaluated within the context of translation competence. For the other practical part, it will be interviewed with the sector. With the questions asked to the sector, the expectation of the sector will be revealed. Accordingly, translation competence will be evaluated. The target of this study is to examine translator competence in accordance with translation competence and the expectation of the sector based on Sakarya University. Accordingly, the expectations will be found out, evaluated and if there are deficiencies, they will be detected. This is a study aimed at improvement. ABSTRACT
