Abstract (EN)
The study is about producing translation exercises that contribute to the basic skills of language teaching and integrating the didactic aspect of translation into language teaching, taking into account the assertion that the words, structures and skills encountered in the language teaching process can be permanence by gaining equivalence in the individual's native language. "Integration of translation in foreign language teaching" was aimed with the translation exercises produced in the thesis study. In the light of this scope, limitations were determined, and the document analysis method was used along with a qualitative study. At the same time, the study was supported by material Development. In this study, the Netzwerk book, which was produced in accordance with the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Program and is suitable for A1 level, was examined for the German course taught as a second foreign language. Translation exercises are included in the study. These translation exercises have been produced to assist four basic skills in accordance with the achievements of the Netzwerk A1 book used in the German course used in teaching a limited second foreign language. In the first part of the study, topics such as the problem situation, the purpose and importance of the research are included, and in the second part, the place and importance of translation in language teaching, the history of translation, translation in German teaching, the positive and negative aspects of translation in language teaching, translation within the scope of language skills and related academic studies. has taken place. In this section, the perspective on translation from past to present is discussed and the areas in which it has found a place in language teaching throughout history are examined. At the same time, the effect of the didactic aspects of translation on language skills, academic studies on translation and the perspective on translation in these academic studies have been researched sequentially from past to present. The academic studies given sequentially have revealed what kind of change in the perspective on translation or thoughts on supporting its use. After giving information about the research material and document analysis process in the third part of the study, in the fourth part, the limitation, the extent to which and on which skills the Netzwerk book includes translation, is examined within the scope of 12 units. As a result of the review, it was determined that translation was not included sufficiently in terms of four basic skills, and the importance of translation was emphasized at the beginning of the book in question. In this regard, this issue was seen as a deficiency in the mentioned book and findings were presented. In the fifth and last part of the study, translation exercises that support four basic skills were produced in accordance with the achievements of the 12 units in the book, which are covered under the title of translation practices in foreign language teaching. At this point, the study was supported by material development within the scope of translation activities and a suggestion was made that translation integration for the four basic skills should be included in foreign language German courses and books in Turkey.
