Analysis of translation history with today's aspect

İn this study called "Analysis of Translation History with Today's Aspect" we have analyzes which developments were appeared due to the translation. What we have firstly analyzed is how the translation history has been improved from past till now.We have tried to find some information in our thesis who the main characters or founders are for Translation Studies and the people that brought Translation Studies from the past to the present. Our study is about the changes such as how the texts were translated through the frame of mind in the past; some time later the translation alienated the frame of mind in the past and the translation, which had a new dimension, has today?s approach now.We have searched the translation by starting from the Ancient Ages, Middle Ages and Modern Age. Who supported the translation and which communities were developed with the help of it have been discussed. Apart from these information, the rising and dead communities have been mentioned. Also, how the balances were changed and its reasons are reflected through the translation.In our study we have formed a wide range of analysis which about Translation Theories? Historical Structure, Modern Translation Theories and Academic Approaches in the Translation Studies. From modern approaches we have discussed Descriptive Theory of Toury, Polysystem Theory of Even-Zohar, and Action Theory of Holz Männtäri and Skopos Theory of Vermeer.We have also mentioned the paradigm change in this study. We see that with paradigm change, source-oriented translation and equivalence problem gave their places to functional translation. In addition to them, lastly we have discussed how studies are made in translation studies area in Turkey and how functional studies they are.
