Abstract (EN)

It is the aim of this study to examine Cittaslow which has become an urbanization and philosophy of life, which has been adopted by many countries, especially the developed countries of Europe, and its effect on employees. The cittaslow movement was inspired by the philosophy of the slow food movement. The Cittaslow movement was born with the slow food movement to the urban format, slow food is related to eating habits and the production and consumption of foodstuffs. As of 2017, there are over 230 of the world's 30 different countries and 14 calm cities in Turkey. Cittaslow is rapidly adopted in post modern societies as a new model of life that attaches importance to the environment and nature, and the numbers are increasing day by day. The cittaslow movement, which aims to raise awareness on environmental values, protection of human health, the preservation of historical and cultural values, and the reconstruction of traditional values against the standardization brought by globalization, has been supported by Turkey since 2009 under the cittaslow title of İzmir's Seferihisar district. In this study, the workers of Uzundere district in Erzurum province was made a research topic. Uzundere is accepted as the 11th calm city of Turkey in 2016 by Cittaslow International Headquarters. The quality of life and environmental sensitivities of the public and private sector employees were examined in the district and the effects on cittaslow employees were determined. The resulting data allows for the creation of a number of new social policies for those working in the quiet city of Uzundere.
