Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the ethnobotanical characteristics of the products in the market places in Sinop Center and its districts within the scope of environmental conditions. Within the scope of the study, people in the market places in Sinop Center, Gerze, Ayancık, Boyabat, Saraydüzü, Durağan, Türkeli, Dikmen, Erfelek districts were interviewed face to face and questions prepared by us were asked. With the questions asked, an attempt was made to investigate the demographic information of the marketers in the center and districts of Sinop and those who know about herbal products and the ethnobotanical importance of the herbal products they sell. The answers to the questions were compared. After learning the local names of the plant samples, their scientific names, taxa and families were revealed. According to the results of the research, generally the same types of plants were encountered in the regions where the study was conducted, as they generally had the same climatic conditions and the regions where the study was conducted were close to each other. In the study, seasonal evaluations were also made. It has been revealed that the different herbal products and diversity in the markets are concentrated especially in the summer and autumn seasons. In this way, it has been observed that the products vary, especially due to the effects of geographical and climatic changes. The results will be meaningful for ethnobotanical studies and will increase awareness of the diversity and richness of our country's herbal products by contributing to the literature for transmitting the herbal products used by local people to future generations and for other ethnobotanical studies to be carried out.
