Abstract (EN)

The study presents a novel method for the separation/enrichment and UV-VIS spectrophotometric determination of trace Co(II) ve Zn(II) ions from water samples using Amberlite XAD–4 modified with N,N-bis(salisilidin)-siklohegzandiamin (SCHD). For this aim, for each of Co(II) and Zn(II) metal ions, separation and enrichment parameters (pH, eluent type and concentration, eluent volume, maximum sample volume, sample flow rate, eluent flow rate) with XAD–4-SCHD resin were analyzed and optimum preconcentration values were obtained. Through the developed separation/enrichment method, Co (II) and Zn (II) ions enriched and separated from the environmental water samples have been determined by UV-VIS spectrophotometer. For Co(II), synthesized potassium 2,6 dimetylmorpholinedithiocarbamate reactive (KDMMDTC) was used while for Zn (II), 1,5-diphenylthiocarbazone (DTZ) reactive was used. In this context, preconcentration factor of Co(II) and Zn(II) with XAD–4-SCHD resin was determined to be 100, linear ranges in spectroscopic measurementswere found to be 0,06-3, 0,1-2 mg/L respectively and their dedection limits were determined as 8,4 and 46,4 µg/L. The accuracy of the developed method was researched by analyzing NW-TMDA-70.2 waste water sample, the observed recovery values were higher than 90%. In addition, Co(II) and Zn(II) analysis results with proposed method were found to be consistent with ICP-MS measurement results in different environmental water samples.
