Abstract (EN)

The study was carried out in Ceyhan Plain Left Coast Section (70941 ha). The physical and chemical analytical data of the mapping units showing the soil series and its phases of the Ceyhan Plain prepared in the detailed soil map were integrated into the geographic information systems via ArcMap software. Thus, the Ceyhan Plain Soil Information System, which was established in accordance with the geographical information systems, was presented to the service of all potential users as a base for agricultural and forestry applications. In addition, such properties of soils; soil depth, stoneiness and so on, is also aimed to contribute to infrastructure engineering studies. It has been determined that the area of the residential land increased and the agricultural land within the study area has been decreased in the period from 1981 to 2015. Therefore, according to the soil map of 1983, were revised by using 2015 satellite images. The total area of agricultural land (area after settlement of the settlements from the soil series) decreased from 68744 ha to 67175 ha with a decrease of 1589 ha, while the whole area of the Ceyhan district, which is within the boundaries of the study area, has spread over 628 ha to 1622 ha; (994 ha). There is a connection between increasing construction and industrialization and decreasing agricultural land. According to the characteristics of the soil series mapped in Ceyhan plains mainly 16% Ceyhan series, 12% Kösreli series, 11% Burhanlı series and other soil series were found to be composed. In addition, the soils over the plain are mostly composed of alkaline characteristics, stone free, well drained, mainly flat without erosion and salinity problems. The highest portion of area have clayey soil texture in both the surface surf and subsoil sections in the top and bottom soil textures was found to be clay.
