Abstract (EN)

Purpose: After evisceration surgery by the method of two posterior sclerotomy with double scleral flap, prosthesis motilities and cosmetic results was assessed by patient satisfaction.Material and Methods: Double scleral flap methods with the evisceration of the 38 patients were 19 men and 19 women. Average age was 29.1 ( range 5- 83 years ) respectively. The most common indication for evisceration was traumatic phthisical eyes and endophthalmitis. 30 ( % 78.9 ) patients had moderte phytisis and 8 ( % 21.1 ) patients had severe phytisis.. Acrylic impant were placed in all patients. 20 mm implants were placed in 29 patients ( % 76.3 ) and 18 mm implants were placed in 9 patients ( % 23.7). Prosthesis motility were assesed at four cardinal gaze; abduction, adduction, elevation and depression: No movement ( 0 ), one-way movement ( + 1 ), two-way movement ( + 2 ), three-way movement ( + 3 ), four cardinal directions movement ( + 4 ) were evaluated in five groups. The subjective patient satisfaction (good, medium, low) were evaluated. Results: The study included 38 patients, implant exposure only occurred in one patient. Prosthesis motility in the four cardinal directions ( + 4 ) in 17 patients, prosthetic motility in the three cardinal directions in 11 patients the two cardinal directions prosthesis motility was observed in 10 patients. Cosmesis as a subjective, evolving lash ptosis in 1 ( % 2.6 ) patient, while low-grade, 8 patients ( % 21.1 ), moderate and in 29 patients ( % 76.3) showed good degree of satisfaction. Conclusion: Patients treated evisceration techniques with the method of double scleral flap had satisfactory functional and cosmetic results were obtained.
