Özet (EN)

This thesis purports to make a sociological analysis of what is called "the Islamist woman" in Cihan Aktaş's works. The first chapter deals with "a debate on woman" in the context and as a part of Ottoman modernization. The woman who is a part of the Islamist typology can also be located in a mixture of modernized-westernized ideological context in the 19th. century and her position as such deserves to be closely studied. In the following Republican years the woman appears in the image and role of the "contemporary woman" together with the recently endowed rights to her is a part of this research. The research after that focuses on the definitions of the Islamist ideology and "the Islamist woman" in the sociological and political terminology. In the second chapter of this thesis the reader will find information and location of Cihan Aktaş with his presentation of the Islamist woman. In this context, the Islamist woman's place and role, thereby the political implications of her presentation in view of the changes and tensions in Cihan Aktaş's works are sociologically analyzed. Also, this chapter sets out to analyze Cihan Aktaş's concept of "the Islamist woman" as the writer describes her images in public, her transformation and changes she is subjected to. As a conclusion, this thesis tries to direct the reader's attention to the description of the ideal woman by the writer Cihan Aktaş, after writing out the typologies of many women types.
