Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the effects of vermicompost, which is an organic fertilizer that has been increasingly used in recent years, on plant growth, quality characteristics and nutrient content of Monterey and Portola strawberry cultivars. In the study, 6 different applications were considered, with application doses of 0 g, 15 g, 30 g, 45 g, 60 g vermicompost and 1,0 g MAP per plant. The effects of vermicompost and MAP fertilizer doses on two strawberry cultivars (Monterey, Portola) first flowering date, first harvest date, last harvest date, harvest time, number of flowers, number of fruit per plant, fruit width, fruit length, fruit weight, fruit yield per plant, plant width, plant height, plant leaf width, plant leaf length, plant petiole length, fruit color, fruit flesh color, leaf color, chlorophyll value, pH value, SÇKM, titratable acid amount, plant nutrient element (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Mn, Fe, Zn, B, Cl, Na), amount of organic acid (oxalic, propionic, tartaric, butyric, malonic, malic, lactic, citric, maleic, fumaric, succinic), amino amount of acid (aspartic, glutamic, asparagine, serine, glutamine, histidine, glycine, theanine, arginine, alanine, tyrosine, cystine, valine, methionine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, hydroxyproline, sarcosine, proline), enzyme (CAT, POD, SOD) and sensory parameters (colour, taste, odour, aroma, hardness, general acceptability) were examined. In the study, the most effective result regarding fruit yield was obtained from the application of V45 (491,05 g/plant). The highest yield was determined from the Monterey variety with 401,69 g/plant. The highest fruit number value was determined from the application of V45 (26,66 units/plant). The highest value of fruit weight was determined in the application of V60 (20,06 g/fruit). It has been determined that vermicompost is a good alternative fertilizer for sustainable agriculture in strawberry cultivation and V45 application gives positive results on yield, quality and nutrient content.
