Abstract (EN)
In today's cement industry, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprints has become increasingly important in line with sustainability objectives. Accordingly, many companies are developing various strategies to minimize carbon emissions and enhance environmental performance. Given the constraints in human resources, financial capacity, and other critical resources within the industry, the identification and prioritization of carbon reduction strategies have become a crucial necessity. This study aims to evaluate the strategies developed to reduce carbon emissions in the cement industry and to determine the most effective approaches. Within this scope, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to analyze previous studies on carbon reduction strategies in the cement sector. Various technologies and methods that could effectively mitigate emissions were examined. Following this, expert consultations were carried out to assess the feasibility, efficiency, and potential contributions of different strategies. The study further examines a specific company in the sector, evaluating its carbon reduction strategies, including newly developed technologies and process innovations, through a multi- xv criteria decision-making approach. In this context, the Neutrosophic Fuzzy EDAS method, widely used for decision-making under uncertainty, was applied. This method allows for a comprehensive and balanced assessment of alternative strategies. The findings indicate that the Waste Heat Recovery strategy holds the highest priority, followed by the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) strategy. The results of this study contribute to the strategic decision-making process in achieving sustainable and low-carbon production goals in the cement industry, providing valuable insights for firms seeking to enhance their environmental performance while optimizing resource allocation.
