Recently, zinc- aluminum based alloys have being used widely in many areas especially in automotive industry. The equipment produced from pressure die casting zinc-aluminum alloy (Zamak-5) are usually used as coated. In Turkey, coating is applied to zamak-5 alloy in a similar way as used for steels. This causes some problems on coating thickness and quality. In this study, in the coating of zamak-5 alloy with copper mono layer and cop per- nickel multi layer, the effects of different coating conditions on the amount of coated material, and current efficiency were investigated. Adhesion tests have also been applied and thus the best coating conditions for zamak-5 alloy have been determined.
