Abstract (EN)
Considering that the music education starts at very young ages, the effect of change of the physical body and sexual identity to the performance during transition from childhood to adulthood is inevitable. Biological differences between female and male anatomy is based on science. In light of that information, effect of physical differences between male and female bodies to the music which is performance art is a subject of discussion. Although, in sports, women and men are evaluated separately due to physical differences, in music, they are evaluated equally, still many female artists can perform as high a performance as male artists. Social sexuality is division of female and male gender by consubstantitation of the 'feminity' and 'manhood' roles and statues with cultural interpretation. That perception related problems are another performance affecting factor for female performers. In the first part of the study, the effect of the differences between female and male anatomy on wind instrument performers and percussionists will be researched, In the second part difficulties encountered by female wind instrument performers and female percussionists due to the social perception of sexuality is researched. Research has been developed by the difficulties of female artist encountered because of social sexuality in history, theory of lack of creativity for female artists, gendering for instruments, influence of culture on the artists. Those whom have been interviewed male and female flutists has been interpreted. Although the physcical features has no negative influence or lackness on the female performance, female artists has been succeed according to how much they could have get rid of the influences of social sexuality in the history. Key words: gender, female virtuoso, physical differences, sex, wind and percussion instruments.
