Abstract (EN)

In this study, some limnological properties of Cip Stream (Elazığ) in relation to water quality was investigated. For this purpose water samples were collected at monthly interval between January 2013-December 2013. Water temperature, pH, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen were measured directly in field whilst chemical analyses of amonium, nitrite, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and COD were carried out in water quality laboratory by means of cell test through a spectrophotometer. Total hardness, alkalinity, salinity and organic matter were determined in accordance with methods in APHA (1985). According to Water Quality Criteria for Inland Water Resources, Seli Stream should be classified as class I (high quality water) in terms of all parameters employed in this thesis, exclusive of nitrite-nitrogen, total phosphorus, total nitrogen whose values indicated class II (less polluted) water quality for the stream.
