Abstract (EN)
Javelin is a traditional equestrian sports game with a centuries-old history played by the Turks, which is called a war sport based on the struggle of horse and man, a game of bravery and an indicator of masculinity. The horses to be selected for the horse javelin game, which is based on intelligence and strategy, must be intelligent, have high performance and fast maneuvering ability, and be resistant to tight training programs. In this context, one of the hormones whose effect we examined in the study, Visfatin, is adipokin and myokine, which are reported to be able to be evaluated in determining the performance level of horses due to their intense presence in skeletal november. Another hormone is Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), a learning-related hormone that affects learning and memory. In this study, the effect of the competition on serum visfatin and plasma BDNF (P-BDNF) hormone levels and its relationship with some biochemical parameters (glucose, lactate, Na, K, Cl, Ca, Mg, P, Fe, ALT, ALT, LDH, CK, creatinine, ürea, total cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TG), HDL, LDL, LDL) in horses participating in the javelin competition held in Bayburt province were investigated. In this context, a total of 14 Arabian stallions, aged between 4 and 9, with an average BCS of 3.7 were used in the study. Blood samples from the vena jugularis were taken from the horses included in the study, including resting state (T0), pre-competition (T1) and end-competition (T2) periods for a total of two competitions. The levels of the hormone visfatin in blood serum samples and BDNF in plasma samples were studied quantitatively by ELISA method, biochemical parameters were studied by spectrophotometric method on Cobas 8000 autoanalyzer. The serums obtained from the blood samples were stored at -80°C. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed statistically using the friedmam test in the IBM SPSS Statistics program. While the mean serum visfatin hormone levels of the horses in the TA and TB groups, which constitute the study group, were significantly decreased compared to the T2 period, T0 and T1 periods of the M1 and M2 javelin competition, it was determined that there was a significant increase in the mean p-BDNF values (p< 0.05). The mean serum Cl level of the TA group M1 competition T1 and T2 periods decreased significantly compared to the T0 period, while a significant decrease was detected in the T2 period of the TA group M2 and TB group M1 and M2 competitions compared to the T0 and T1 periods (p<0.05). On the other hand, the mean serum lactate and Na levels of the TA and TB group M1 and M2 javelin competitions for the T2 period decreased significantly compared to the T1 period, while an increase was observed in the T0 period (p<0.05). As a result, p-BDNF and serum visfatin hormone levels and biochemical parameters (glucose, lactate, Na, K, Cl, Ca, Mg, P, Fe, AST, ALT, ALP, LDH, CK, creatinine, urea, TK, TG, HDL, LDL, VLDL) levels were revealed. Measuring the level of visfatin hormone and biochemical parameters, performance in horses depending on the exercise, training, and physical activity; On the other hand, p-BDNF is thought to contribute to the evaluation of the nervous system's response, cognitive performance, and endocrine response in the brain and may be useful.
