Colour and typography in cartoon generics

Today, cartoons, which play a great role in the development of an individual, have an important place in the visual and auditory perception of the individual. The first moment when communication starts to be established in the transfer of a cartoon film to an individual is the credits of the film. In this part, the director or designer tries to give information about the film with visual and auditory elements, while at the same time preparing the person for the film by attracting attention and arousing curiosity. While achieving this, he/she utilises the visual and auditory elements of communication. Especially typography and colour, which help in the direct transfer of information, are visual elements that strengthen the narrative in perception and comprehensibility. In this context, it is thought that both elements should be handled in a way to emphasise what they represent. Thus, if the typography and colour in the title of the credits, which are transferred to the audience in a few seconds, are handled according to the type, content and audience of the film, it will establish a connection between the person and the film and achieve its purpose. In line with the researches and information obtained, it is seen that even though visual and audio elements are mostly created according to the nature of cartoons, mobility and complexity are prioritised rather than the transfer of the message. In this research, under the title of "typography and colour in cartoon credits", the subject was focused on in order to provide awareness and create a resource, and a sample application study was carried out by considering the visual elements in the light of design principles.
