An analysis about vocabulary of cartoons

Abstract (EN)
This Ph. D. dissertation was done in order to find out the word property of five different cartoons thereby broadcasted on TRT and to explore the results by comparing them with the vocabulary of elementary school graders. The five cartoons consist of 541 episodes in total. In the raw version, the cartoon had a word count of 343.960. As a result of various analyses studies, 301.523 words have been classifield in each cartoon; general vocabulary, idioms, proverbs, reduplications, slang or in other word, elements that can be a bad example for children, mold words, stereotypes, proper nouns and in terms of code copying were examined under nine headings. After the repeated vocabulary elements were removed, 10.992 pieces of vocabulary element emerged. The Ph. D. dissertation, exluding, the introduction, consisted of five parts. In the First Section, the conceptual framework of the thesis is drawn and various information is given about the concepts in the dissertation. In the second section, the vocabulary of cartoons and the vocabulary of elementary school students were compared and examined. In the third section, the vocabulary of cartoons were analyzed. In the fourth section, general information about the cartoons were examined, and the results related to the vocabulary of cartoons were given. Lastly, in the Fifth Section the total and different elements in the vocabulary of cartoon and elementary school graders, proper nouns, vocabulary assets from zero to two thousand are evaluated separately and the elements in each frequency group are considered the percentages in the different and total vocabulary element lists examined. Also the vocabulary of cartoons and elementary school graders are compared in three different ways.
