Abstract (EN)

This study covers the battles from the 25 April 1915 landings until the last British soldier left Helles on 9 January 1916. The battles of Helles, without a doubt, constitute the bloodiest phases of the Gallipoli campaign. When Gallipoli Battles are mentioned in Turkey, the battles in Arıburnu and Anafartalar come to mind, and the battles of Helles are not well known. However, Helles, the main landing zone of the Allied Army, was the scene of almost uninterrupted attacks until August, the main result was tried to be obtained from here and both armies lost most of their casualties here. Therefore, a good analysis of the Battles of Helles, which we think has been neglected until now, is extremely important for a better understanding of the Gallipoli campaign in general. Another deficiency in Turkish historiography regarding the Battle of Gallipoli is the fact that the issue of looking at the events from the eyes of the other side is ignored. The subject was not only looked at by the Turks, but also the first-hand sources belonging to the Allied Powers were also examined, and the archive sources of both sides were compared and interpreted objectively.
