Abstract (EN)

In this study, a system has been developed to machine work pieces whose photos were taken on a CNC turning machine tools. The system called TKNC, consists of three main modules. The first module, takes pictures of the work pieces and evaluates. BMP formatted pictures are two groups of color by processing the pixels. Pixels are sorted according to figure-ground relationship. The second module evaluates the pixels to determine features such as cylinder, cone and thread modifications on the obtained geometry of work pieces such as adding, deleting and editing can be done. If required, geometric information is allowed to open in a CAD programme like AutoCAD by converting to DXF format. In the last module, CNC part programs are generated to machine work pieces. The information regarding the feature to be machined, the operation to be applied, the tool to be used, material, and so forth if used for CNC programmes, CNC programmes are prepared using fanuc basic codes and cycle format. The system was designed, by using Visual Basic Net programming language.Key Words : Image processing, DXF, CNC part programs
