Abstract (EN)
It was reported in the literature that Co43Fe20Ta5.5B31.5 alloy, which has attracted particular attention due to its high strength within the crystalline and amorphous alloys, was succesfully cast 2 mm in diameter. In this study, the effect of a partial or complete replacement of Ta by Nb, Ti and Al in above composition have been investigated in successfully producing amorphpous metallic glasses of above composition. Vacuum arc furnace, designed and produced by the research group, was used for the first time to produce alloys by arc melting and suction-casting. Manufactured alloys were identified as crystalline except the base alloy which was obtained as composite. Alloys were prepared under argon atmosphere by casting into copper moulds which has cylindirical cavity. Characterization of the samples was performed with inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM).
