Research on factors affecti̇ng co2 release: An econometric application on OECD countries

In this study, the short-term and long-term relationship between carbon emissions, energy use, growth, population growth, per capita income and renewable energy consumption in the 34 OECD countries reached to the data was analyzed using the panel ARDL model. Also in this study, a sort-term estimation has been made for Turkey. The annual data between 1990 and 2012 has been used as the data set. In the study, long-term in OECD countries; there is a negative correlation between population growth and CO2 and renewable energy consumption and CO2, the same direction between growth and CO2. In the short term, similar relationship has been found between population growth and CO2 and energy use and CO2. This study, short-term in Turkey; the same direction between energy use and CO2 and per capita income and CO2 has been found to be the opposite relationship between growth and CO2 and renewable energy consumption and CO2.
