Investigation of the process of acquiring values education for children of mothers whose children continue preschool education

The individual starts to acquire the values he / she has in the family. Naturally, the most important person for the child is the mother. The love and warm contact established by the mother breastfeeding creates a sense of trust in the baby. In the ongoing process, individuals in the family are the ones the child first sees, imitates and tries to learn about. As the child grows up, he will begin to wonder and understand the world, his life and the people. This effort to understand will bring about the attitude and attitude towards them. Thus, the style or shapes we call value or character will emerge. The education given to the children in preschool period aims to gain many competences in the definition of values. Early childhood is the first period in which information about values is formed. This study was conducted in order to consult the mothers' opinions about values education in pre-school. It is a qualitative study. The data were collected with a semi-structured interview form consisting of 15 questions. The study group consisted of mothers (n = 20) of children attending a kindergarten in Güngören district of Istanbul in 2018-2019 academic year. In this research, mothers are aware of the basic idea about what values education is, but they cannot fully define, they consider this education important, but they do not have enough education, they make enough efforts to make their children value, honesty, love, respect and sharing values are the values that mothers want to acquire firstly. and sharing values, the role model and plain narrative are the most commonly used methods, the use of mother, father and fam great extent, books and cartoons are mostly used, teachers and friends outside the mother are effective, spouse, mother and father are often confronted, mostly cooperating with teachers, negative examples and parental attitudes cause problems, role model, patience, devoting sufficient time and It was concluded that it was among the ones suggested by the mothers in the acquisition. Based on this result, it was suggested that mothers should receive education, pay attention to the content of the book in their book choices, make use of family elders and pay attention to children's friends.
