Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to examine the child's contribution to the spiritual development of mothers. In the study, two methods, including both quantitative and qualitative dimensions, were used as data collection methods. The quantitative questionnaire technique and the qualitative interview technique were used. In the quantitative research, a questionnaire was applied to 500 mothers of the students who attended the 4-6 age Quran courses of Diyanet in Üsküdar, Ümraniye and Ataşehir districts. In the study, a questionnaire form consisting of 14 questions was used to determine the contribution of the child to the spiritual development of the mother as a measurement tool. In the qualitative study, the data were collected in accordance with the interview method, using a semi-structured interview form. The sample consisted of the mothers of the students attending the 4-6 age-old Quran Courses of Diyanet in Üsküdar, Ümraniye, Ataşehir districts, and 20 mothers were interviewed. According to the findings of the research, while the participants were mostly themselves at the center of their lives before, after becoming mothers, their children now replaced them, and their sense of responsibility and affection increased. After becoming a mother, it was observed that the participants paid more attention to their religious lives in terms of setting an example for their children, encouraging them to learn science, and instilling spiritual feelings. As a result, it has been determined that having a child and the resulting mother-child interaction have a possitive effect on the religious and spiritual aspect of the mother.
