Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the moral values addressed in the Çocuk Bahçesi magazine, which started its publication during the Second Constitutional Period (II. Meşrutiyet). Çocuk Bahçesi was published weekly between January 26, 1905, and December 14, 1905, totaling 43 issues before a break in its publication. The magazine was revived during the Second Constitutional Period from March 5, 1914, to July 23, 1914, with 21 issues published along with an additional "Nüsha-i Fevkalede" supplement. In this process, 21 issues published between 1329-1330 (Hijri calendar) of Çocuk Bahçesi were examined. The document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred during the investigation. All issues of the magazine were accessed from the Hakkı Tarık Us digital library, and the data obtained by meticulously scanning each issue from beginning to end were indexed using computer software. After indexing, the data were classified internally and necessary evaluations were made, revealing that moral values such as Conscientiousness, Diligence, Patriotism, Compassion, Solidarity, Neighborliness, Loyalty, Sacrifice, Patience, and Generosity were emphasized in the Çocuk Bahçesi magazine. Additionally, it was determined that behaviors such as Laziness, Envy and Jealousy, Arrogance, Stinginess, Anger, Lying, Hatred and Enmity, Mischief, Ambition, and Vulgar Speech were criticized in the magazine, and efforts were made to keep the reader base away from such attitudes. Keywords: Religious Education, Çocuk Bahçesi Magazine, Second Constitutional Period, Moral Behavior, Child.
