Sociological analysis of child sexual abuse (Malatya Children's Monitoring Center implementation)

Sexual abuse needs an interdisciplinary study. However, there are studies in terms of health and law regarding child sexual abuse in the literature. The solution to this problem is not to collect medical evidence and to increase the penalty rate for the harasser. As a universal problem, socio-thought attitudes and behaviors of societies are also effective in maintaining sexual abuse of children in arts and privacy. This risk in this thesis study analyzes the social risk factors that cause sexual abuse of children. According to the disciplines, this problem was tried to be approached in a sociological environment. Malatya Çocuk İzlem Merkezi (ÇİM), which is affiliated with the Ministry of Health, has been the most suitable field for the victim-oriented work we have carried out. As a child-friendly environment, ÇİM is a formation that aims to eliminate secondary trauma from the child's traumatic event and provides medical, legal, psychological and social support to the child and his family. Within the scope of the study, case files were subjected to content analysis, provided that 678 children who were registered at ÇİM were registered. The data obtained by using qualitative methods were converted into numbers and percentages in the SPSS package program. As a result of the findings, it has been determined that stereotypes about child sexual abuse make the solution of the problem difficult. Sexual abuse, which is prevented from being exposed and tried to be carried out in secrecy, is fed by the elements of the social system that are rotten but cannot be removed, and also leads to corruption in the social system; creates a boomerang effect.
