Bibliometric analysis of theses prepared in the field of children's literature

Abstract (EN)

This research aims to analyze the bibliometric analysis of postgraduate theses that have access permission in the field of children's literature and are prepared in the field of education. Quantitative descriptive model was adopted as the research method in the research. The universe of the research is all theses in the field of children's literature. The study group of the research consists of 700 postgraduate theses registered in the YÖK National Thesis Center database, on leave and in the field of education. YÖK National Thesis Center database was chosen as the data source. The data collection tool is the Graduate Thesis Analysis Form consisting of 16 questions developed by the researcher. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using the bibliometric analysis technique. According to the findings obtained in the research, the highest number of theses in the field of children's literature were written in 2019 (f = 160). Most theses were prepared in the master's degree type (f = 601). The most frequently discussed topic in theses is children's literature. In the biological gender distribution of thesis writers, female gender is more dominant (f = 494). The university where the most theses are prepared is Ankara University (f = 54). The institute where the most theses are prepared is the Institute of Educational Sciences (f = 382). The department where the most theses are prepared is the Department of Turkish Education (f = 208). The branch of science in which the most theses are prepared is the Department of Turkish Education (f = 349). The academicians who advised the theses the most were Asst. Assoc. Dr./Dr. They are academics with the title of Faculty Member (f = 270). The academician who advised the theses the most is Ankara University faculty member Prof. Dr. Sedat SEVER (f=29). Theses were written in the range of 101-150 pages at most (f = 193). The most used research method in theses is the qualitative research method (f = 580). Theses were mostly written in Turkish (f=689). There are also theses written in languages ​​other than Turkish (f=11). The most used keyword in theses is "children's literature". Although the number of theses produced at the master's level in the field of children's literature has reached a significant number, the number of doctoral theses is not sufficient, the majority of theses prepared in the field consist of qualitative studies, the universities where the most theses are prepared in the literature are the universities that have completed their institutionalization in Ankara, and women are more likely to participate in postgraduate research in children's literature. It was concluded that he showed interest.
