A comparison of children's literature products and the works of art written for children in the context of value education

In this study, the values in the children?s literature, and the values in the planned works which are written for children are detected. It is put forward in which works value education is exhibited more efectively and permanently. In the first part of the study the concept of value is defined. Then value education subjects in Turkish education, in children?s literature, and abroad are emphasised, and academic studies in our country which are related to value education are mentioned. Problem sentence and the aim of thesis are denoted and the main concepts about the thesis are defined.The universe of the thesis consists of the children?literature works of , Kemalettin Tuğcu, Gülten Dayıoğlu, Muzaffer İzgü, Ömer Seyfettin ve Cahit Zarifoğlu and the written works with the subject of value education, the samples contains three stories of five different authors of children?s literature and five different stories set of five different publishing houses. In the search, descriptive field search method in scanning is applied. The chosen stories are well read and the values that are found are indicated. The assessment results are classified under different titles, and how the values are given and how they are implemented are indicated.As a result, it is indicated that planned works of children?s literature works are not perfect, without deficit, excellent form the point of value education. From this point it can be claimed that the works that are examined complete each other. Thus, the two groups of works will be useful in children education from the view of value education.Key Words: The values, values education, children's literature, children's artworks.
