Abstract (EN)
While studies on readiblity date back to 1920s in Europe, in Turkey, these studies have been conducted just recently. Readiblity calculations consist of the numbers of syllables and words in the text. The equations obtained from these numbers give us the rate of readiblity of the text. Readiblity rate leads us to target group who read the text. In this study, readiblity rates of Hasan Kallimci's stories for children are evaluated. At first, 10 stories suitable for 5th grades are selected according to experts' opinion. Then a readiblity scale, developed by Ateşman (1997) fort he first time for Turkish literatüre, is implemented on these stories. It is seen that all the stories examined are on the easy level. In conclusion, it can be said that the author's stories are suitable fort he target group.
