Qualitative analysis of care measure process within the childprotection system

The main aim of this research is to provide a holistic analysis of the care measure process within the framework of opinions of children which living in children's homes under protection and care and experience the care process from beginning to end who professional staffs' that take care measure about these childrens and who psychosocial service workers' that provide support for these childerens. In this context, it is aimed to uncover the deficiencies and problems that exist in the maintenance measure process and to present suggestions for improving the process. In the study, qualitative research method was used to enable participants to express their assessments of the process in their own words. In addition, it has been evaluated that this method adds richness and flexibility to the research. Purposive sampling method was used in the study and diversity was tried to be provided in the sample group. In this context ; in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 25 people in the provinces of Duzce, Bolu and Zonguldak. Within the scope of the research data were collected using the semi-structured interview form prepared and the data obtained were interpreted by content analysis technique. When the data are analyzed; It has been determined that there are different problems topics of: business life of professional staff, laws and regulations within the scope of child protection policies, the process of identifying children needing protection, social review process, decision process, delivery and adaptation process to organization of children who have been taken care measures, conditions, rules and services of children's homes sites, educational life with family and friendship relationships of the children staying in these organizations, other care models, the process of removing the care measure and after. These problems have been discussed taking into account of the relevant literature and similar studies results. Finally, recommendations have been given for solving existing problems and improving the maintenance measure process.
