Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the influences of cartoons, theater, cinema, internet games, Educational PC CDs and television series on children getting pre-school education between the age of five and six (60-72 months). The study investigates what kind of programs pre-school children generally watch and what kind of programs have positive or negative effects on them. In order to determine the degree of the effects of programs watched on pre-school children, the researcher has made camera records after the programs are watched. In the light of these camera records the children were observed during various corner activities and the free style drawings of each were filed.In this study which carries quantitative characteristics, the practices observed (cartoons, theater, cinema, internet games, Educational PC CDs and television series) were applied on 20 pre-school students attending to a school in the province of Afyonkarahisar (Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Elementary School) in the academic year of 2009-2010.According to the results obtained from this study, while Educational Computer CDs, cartoons and cinema have positive effects on children, internet games and television series have negative effects on them.Key words: Pre-School education, children programs, mass communication.
