Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to reveal the differences of married individuals with and without children in terms of coping with stress, subjective well-being and psychological flexibility with the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic process. The research was conducted with the relational survey model, which is included in the quantitative research design, and the survey method was used to collect the data. The sample of the study consists of a total of 402 individuals, 241 women and 161 men, who are over the age of 18. 'Demographic Information Form', 'Psychological Resilience Scale', 'Subjective Well-Being in Romantic Relationships Scale' and 'Couple Coping with Stress Inventory' were used to collect data. Statistical program for social sciences SPSS was used in the analysis of the data. Pearson Correlation and Descriptive Statistics were used to determine the relationships between coping with stress, subjective well-being, and psychological flexibility. Mediation analysis was performed using the PROCESS Macro Model-4. When the research findings were examined, a positive and significant relationship was found between self-perception in coping with stress and subjective well-being in romantic relationships. In addition, a positive and significant relationship was found between psychological flexibility and coping with stress as a couple. At the same time, a positive significant relationship was found between the psychological flexibility value sub-dimension and the sub-dimensions of coping with stress as a couple. As a result, as the level of self-perception of individuals in coping with stress increases, subjective well-being levels in romantic relationships also increase. Similarly, as individuals' psychological flexibility levels increase, their partner perception in coping with stress, joint coping with stress and self-perception in coping with stress also increase. Finally, as the psychological flexibility value sub-dimension levels increase, the perception of spouse in coping with stress, joint coping with stress and self-perception in coping with stress also increase. In line with the findings, the literature was discussed and suggestions were made for future studies. The results obtained in the study show that psychological flexibility contributes to functional coping in romantic relationships. It is recommended to carry out studies to increase psychological flexibility in counseling services related to relationship problems.
