Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the impact of mind and intelligence games on children's future career choices. Children's career choices are shaped not only by personal interests, abilities, and experiences but also by factors that support cognitive development, such as brain sports and mind and intelligence games This study aims to understand the contribution of these games to children's career choices and the mechanisms underlying this effect. This research aims to investigate the impact of the Mind and Intelligence Games Workshop organized by Bursa Yıldırım Public Education Center in collaboration with Yıldırım Municipality on students' academic achievements and their effects on children The study group of this research consists of students aged 4-13 years who primarily come from the city of Bursa, especially Yıldırım, as well as various districts, and attend different schools during the 2021-2022 / 2022-2023 academic year. In the research, individual interviews were conducted with 50 parents, and they were asked 20 questions each The findings were obtained through focus group discussions conducted with 10 parents. During the interviews, it was observed that parents exchanged ideas with each other. The research employed a qualitative research approach and focus group discussions as the data collection method. The data collection and analysis process took place between 2021 and 2023. In the research, parents were asked questions about their expectations and perceptions regarding their children's academic achievements in order to help parents become aware of their children's abilities and assess their educational skills Furthermore, through discussions conducted in conjunction with focus group questions, collaborative problem-solving has been achieved. Parents have also noticed that education and the acquired skills at school contribute to accelerating the process of social integration, enhancing self-expression skills, and fostering self-confidence. The findings indicate that when parents actively participate in their children's education, it contributes to their long-term academic success. The gains achieved through education, in line with the opportunities provided to students, transform them into socially and culturally valuable individuals, thus enabling them to make the desired contributions to society. In conclusion, the aim is to thoroughly investigate the role of mind and intelligence games among the factors influencing children's career choices. The findings obtained can provide significant contributions in terms of developing educational policies through games and implementing measures to support children's cognitive development.
