Abstract (EN)

Objective: The purpose of present study was to determine the levels of situational anxiety caused by the pressure of the competitive situations exposed to by child athletes and to objectively evaluate the parameters of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and state anxiety accompanying the change in emotional state. Method: The Competition Status Anxiety Inventory for Children (SCAT-C) and the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAI-C) were used. HRV measurements were taken using a Polar H10 chest band. Findings: At the beginning of the study, it was observed that the research group had a higher HRV, although it was not statistically significant. It was determined that there was an increase in the values of the second measurement but a decrease in the last measurement, and there was a slight increase by gender, but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups these four measurements. Conclusion: In general, although girls have high data compared to boys, when the data were examined, it was determined that the gender difference was not significant. It was observed that the group did not change over time, which did not lead to a significant difference in the group x time interaction. Key words: Child Athletes, State Anxiety, Competitive Anxiety, Heart Rate Variability and Swimming.
