Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to adapt the Children's Test Anxiety Scale developed by Wren and Benson (2004) to Turkish language and culture. The research is a descriptive study made on the screening model. For the adaptation of the relevant scale, the author's approval was first obtained and the scale was translated from English to Turkish and then translated into English to provide language equivalence. After the translation process, the scale form was applied to 809 students who continue their education in elementary and junior high schools in Adıyaman city center. The data obtained in order to determine the validity of the form adapted to the Turkish version of the scale were first subjected to exploratory factor analysis through the SPSS 20 program and the items identified as inaccurate or inadequate were extracted from the data set and the analysis was repeated. Confirmatory factor analysis was applied to analyze the model data using the AMOS 22 program, and it was found that the fit index values obtained at the end of the analysis were good and that the model data correspondence was provided at a large scale. Item analysis was conducted to determine the discriminative power of the scales. The scores obtained from the scale were ranked from small to large and two groups were formed as 27% and 27% respectively. Independent groups t-test analysis was performed on the average score of these two groups, and the discrimination power of all the items was determined. In order to determine the reliability of the collected data with the adapted form of the scale, item total correlations were found using the SPSS 20 program and the item properties were determined. The Cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated for all dimensions and three dimensions in order to have information about the internal consistencies of the items. The correlation coefficients obtained in order to determine the reliability of the collected data are high. The scale adopted in accordance with the results obtained from the study, researchers in Turkey, guidance services, school administration, teachers or parents by primary and secondary school students concluded that the it is appropriate to use in order to measure test anxiety has been reached.
