Family life quality as a prosecutor of social loneliness in children

Abstract (EN)
In this study, social loneliness tendency and family life quality of 5-6 years old children were examined. This descriptive study based on the relational survey model was conducted in the Alanya district of Antalya province in the 2017-2018 academic year. The permission of the Governor was obtained to conduct research in kindergartens within the primary school. Within the scope of the permission, the primary school officials in the district center were interviewed. Five (5) kindergartens in primary schools, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study, constituted the universe of the study. The Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale was administered to the parents of children attending kindergartens in five different primary schools (children aged 5-6). A working group was formed with 194 parents and their 5-6 year old children who received complete return from the Beach Center Family Quality of Life scale. Personal Information Form, Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale and Loneliness and Social Dissatisfaction Scale for 60-72 Months Old Children were used as data collection instruments. Data were analyzed with SPSS 24 package program. The normality of the data collected by means of measurement was examined and the correlation coefficient, regression, anova and t test were analyzed from parametric tests. As a result of the study, it was determined that children's social loneliness tendency was high. It was found that there was no significant difference in the social loneliness tendency of the children according to variables such as education level of parents, working status of mother, age of mother, order of birth, having siblings and gender. In addition, the perception of family quality of life was higher than the parents included in the study. It was determined that there was no significant difference in the perception of parents 'quality of life according to variables such as parents' educational status and mother's working status. It was v concluded that family life quality-emotional competence dimension explained 48% of the total loneliness tendency seen in children and emotional competence negatively predicted social loneliness in children.
