The base expectations of families which dial their children to artistic gymnastic

The relationship between growth of children and level of doing sports is directly connected. It is shaped with child's interest and ability, actually, sports habit finds it's real meaning in family condition. Parents' life style is an important factor that leading the child to what, how and which object and wishes. The purpose of this study is to determine the principal expectations of families who direct their children to take up artistic gymnastic sports. The study group comprises families with chidren within the 4 to 9 age group who participate in artistic gymnastic sport lessons at the Cemal ALPMAN Hall. A survey questionaire technigue was used to collect the data, comprising of twelve questions using the test- retest method to ensure reliability. Tehere were 70 respondents. The SPSS 1 1.0 ( Statistical Packet For The Social Science ) was used for the statistical analysis. The program calculated valves for requency ( f ), percentage, arithmetic median, standart deviation, maximum, minimum and range. The research was tested utilizing Mann Whitney U and t Test at level Alfa = 0,05 ( %95 probability). According to the results of this study, parents placed their children's health (and maintaining it) as the primart motivating factor, while material expectations (career, financial considerations etc ) had a low prionty level ).
