Abstract (EN)
Today, the size of a country is measured by the economic power of that country. Industry; is the most important sector that will accelerate the development and growth of that country with smart and conscious investments. The cement sector of the industries is developing in line with the increasing construction and infrastructure investments in parallel with population growth and urbanization. Turkey's European Union increased with the entry into the negotiation process foreign and domestic welded industrial investment, economic development and transformation in catching invest the interest of saving our country due to inflation, the state's major investments in infrastructure and most importantly intense from foreign markets, with housing construction mobilization launched by the Public Housing Development Administration It is observed that cement sales have increased considerably due to reasons such as demands. Cement plants, which are accepted as the most important building materials in the world, have become strategically important due to the increasing need for cement and the need to meet this need. The fact that the cement sector is at the top of exports as well as meeting the domestic demand shows that it is a growing sector. In order to leave a cleaner environment for future generations, to protect the scarce resource soil, to determine the appropriate place for the floor of the building to be constructed by protecting the agricultural areas, to meet the increasing need for cement and to support the increase of the economy of the country, it has become a necessity to locate the cement factories in the right place. The location to be selected as the location of the cement factory should be a place where it can achieve its goals in the long run and provide the lowest cost and highest profit. When considering the current situation, it should also be taken into account any changes that may occur over time. Today, Geographic Information Systems should be used as a tool for sustainable, permanent, accurate and reliable results in the selection of cement plants. In this study, the problem of choosing the most suitable plant location for cement plants by using Geographic Information System is discussed. Konya Plain Project provinces (Aksaray, Karaman, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, Konya, Nevsehir, Nigde, Yozgat) were selected as the study area. For cement plant location selection; Technical, social, cultural and economic factors were determined by considering Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, geology maps, mine maps and expert opinions. The data of these identified factors were collected and a database was created. The weight coefficients of these factors were determined by Analytical Hierarchy Process. ArcGIS software was used for the processing of geographic data and Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis and the most suitable places for the cement factories were determined by province and district.
