The effect of geographical structure on painting art and pictorial interpretations on Arguvan geography

In this master thesis study, it is aimed to reveal the development of the effect of geographical structure on the art of painting in the historical process and to produce pictures based on the topographic views of Arguvan Geography. In this context, what the geographical structure is, the elements affected by the geographical structure are explained, and the influence of the painters who lived in the geography of Europe, Turkey and Malatya on the art of painting is supported with examples. In this context, while creating original works that reflect the geographical structure, it is aimed to support the picturesque structure of Malatya geography with oil paintings on canvas. The thesis consists of six chapters. In the first part of the research; The problem situation, importance, purpose, assumptions, limitations, universe and sample of the thesis, and the basic concepts of the research were examined. In the second part; The definition of the geographical structure, the elements affected by the geographical structure, the geographical structure of Malatya were explained; In the third part, which is the most intense part of the research on the conceptual framework; The place of the geographical structure in the history of painting is explained; in the fourth section; The process that determines the formation of applications is explained, the development and analysis process of these applications are discussed; the fifth chapter is the conclusion part of the research and the results of the literature research and the original painting studies are explained; In the sixth chapter, which is the last chapter of the thesis; The domestic and foreign sources, internet sources and the sources of the visuals used in the thesis are shown. Within the scope of the research, photographs of the surrounding villages of Arguvan were taken and sketches were made, and these sketches were transferred to the canvas. The application works consist of nine oil paintings on canvas. Nature views were used as the theme in all of the produced pictures.
