Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Within the scope this experimental research, the effect of the "Student Groups Success Division" method- which is of collaborative learning method- upon the student's academic success, on teaching the subjects of "External Forces" of Geography lesson in the first term of secondary education, has been studied comparing to the traditional teaching method. The research has been carried out regarding the students from the first class, from Mamak Imam Hatip Lisesi, in the spring term of 2003-2004 academic year. The subject of external forces has been taught by traditional teaching method in control group, and by Student Groups Success Divisions in the test group. Pre- test and final- test- control group experiment pattern has been applied in this research. The observed findings have been analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Packet for the Social Science) statistical program. The determined results from the tests have been tested in terms of 0,05 significance- "non- relative exemplary t- test" inter- groups, and "relative exemplary t- test" intra- groups. After the t- test, it was determined that there was a meaningful difference in favour of experimental group, in the academic success between the students from experimental and control groups. Hereby, it has proved that the collaborative learning method is more helpful in increasing academic success.
