Effects of computer-assisted education of geography on students

Aim of this study is determining the effects, of method of computer - assisted education, at secondary school in grade one at the teaching subject of temperature in geography lesson, on students? success.Research was realized in the model of experimental design. Achievement test was used as a data gathering process. The developed surveying instrument were applied to 53 students from Yenikent Ahmet Çiçek Industrial Occupation High school, grade one. At the solving of sub-problems; analysis of bilateral variations (repeated measures) were done; frequency, percentage and arithmetic average values were used.There is a remarkable difference was found, between the experimental and control group after and before the experiment, on their first and the last test?s total point of success at the test of subject of temperature.There is a remarkable difference was found between the first test and the last test average point of success of students at the subject of temperatureIt ıs understood that, from the beginning of experiment to end, the control and experimental groups show remarkable differences about their success point at the test of subject of temperature, that is to say it was found that common effects of factors of repeated measures on the success level of the test of temperature subject were remarkable in different operation groups. It is shown that applying of computer ? assisted education method and teacher centered (direct method, question-answer, and demonstration) method realized different level of success at the subject of temperature.
