Abstract (EN)

Purpose: In this study, we aimed to assess retrospectively the perinatal results observed in our clinic by evaluating the spontaneous multiple pregnancies and the multiple pregnancy cases as a result of in vitro fertilization method.Instrument And Method: in our study, the multiple pregnancies occurred between January 2005 and December 2009 within Department Of Obstetrics And Gynecology, Faculty Of Medicine, University of Cukurova were assessed retrospectively. The cases practiced in this study were analyzed according to the following concerns: The distribution of the pregnancies by years; the average of age, average gestational week, parity, delivery method, interbirth, EMR existence; whether the pregnancies were spontaneous or as a result of treatment; if treatment was applied, what type of assisted productive techniques were managed; sex, indications of caesarian, abortus averages, presentations during delivery; fetal problems, chorionisty and amniosity situations of maternities, fetal reduction, discordant situations between fetus, pregnancy anemia, blood transfusion to mother, cerclage, abortus imminence, emesis gravidarum, hyperemesis, values of APGAR, prenatal and postnatal HTC, RH incompatibility, BMI, intensive care necessities, reasons for hospitalization, stillborn and obstetric complications occurring during maternity. the differences between groups were searched in terms of morbidity and mortality.Findings: 29 spontaneous and 40 treatment pregnancy cases complying with the criteria of the study were considered during the study. When compared the two groups, the difference in mother age averages between the groups was meaningful. The average pregnancy weeks of the infants and average weight of infants were low in both groups, and the difference between groups was considered significant. When compared the APGAR value averages of the infants in 1st and 5th minutes, the results were similar in spontaneous group and treatment group, so they were not significant statistically. Significant relationship was stated between decrease in APGAR score and prematurity and immaturity. In EMR frequency, statistically no significant differences in relationship were found between treatment pregnancy and spontaneous pregnancy. There were statistically meaningfulness between perinatal mortality and gestational week and low birth weight; however, no expressive differences were observed in terms of hospitalization reasons, duration of hospital stay, intensive care necessities and infant death rate; the averages were similar.
